The Secret Saturdays Ep.4 Things aren't as simple as we first thought.

Ulraj lead the Saturdays and Wadi down deeper into the castle with the guards in front of them, the atmosphere got mysteriously darker. The floors seemed dirtier; the paint on the walls looked pale, and drips of water splashed down from the ceiling.

"Uhh, Ulraj? How far does this hallway go?" Zak said as a drop of water landed on his forehead. He wiped if off before it ran into his right eye.

"Not far , we should be there soon." he said, taking the time to stop and look back at Zak.

Angry shouting came from down the hall, it was muffled which probably meant it was coming from behind a closed door.

"We're closer then I thought ." Ulraj said as the two guards, who where leading them down , went to open a door.

As the door opened the shouting got louder.

" Let me go! I swear I wasn't trying to kill anybody! " obviously the new prisoner was having a heated conversation with another guard in the room. The Atlantean's voice was young sounding, he must be in his teen years. And just like Caitlyn , he had the same accent ; although more naturally aggressive sounding.

Ulraj hesitated a bit and waited by the door , " Saturdays first?"

"Sure." Doc said, opening the door open wider as he went through. Soon the others followed in behind , and Ulraj was last in.

No one but Ulraj and the guards got a good look at what this person looked like. but now that they saw him, they where surprised. He was very similar to Caitlyn but there was a BIG difference. Most of his skin was a pale purple color, his arms where the color of Ulraj's skin and Caitlyn's , and their was a trident tattoo on his right shoulder. He had long blonde hair that was slicked back into a pony tail and red eyes like Ulraj , too.

The guards had him tied to a chair , the ropes covered most of his shirtless chest, and they couldn't see his pants because he was also blocked by the table put in front of him.

"Oh, what now? I get an audience !? Well, that's just great. No. I wont say anything else until you get all of them out." He said, first in an almost sarcastic rage then slowly becoming more serious.

"Well, I'm afraid you get zero choice." Ulraj said, sitting down at the other edge of the table. This was pretty much like a normal human interrogation , so far no Kumarian Kadam kinks.

The prisoner did not speak, but instead turned his head slightly to the right , closed his eyes, and shrugged his shoulders. Indicating he wasn't going to talk anymore.

"Ugh." Ulraj said leaning on his shoulder into a facepalm.

Opening his eyes again , he looked at Zak, then at Wadi, up to Drew , and Doc, then Fiskerton. He couldn't see Komodo and Zon wasn't there. The prisoner leaned back further in his chair, despite how closely tied he already was to it, and tilted the wooden chair back. Kind of in a relaxed pose , showing off he was willing to stay quite for a long while.

Doc leaned down to Ulraj, and spoke quietly to him. " Here, why don't I take a try?" Said in more of a statement then question. Ulraj nodded and got up from his position on the chair, and Doc sat down. "So-" he got comfortable in the seat "- do you know a girl named Caitlyn?"

the chair landed back with a thud. All four legs rested on the ground, and the prisoner looked at Doc almost with a puzzled face. He opened his mouth to say something but quickly stopped to realize what he was about to do and shut up.

"Ahh, so it looks like we're getting some where." Zak said.

the boy quickly glared at Zak, speaking through his eyes a death threat.

Zak kinda side stepped backwards behind Wadi, who in returned frowned at Zak's action.

Doc glancing back to Drew , speaking that telepathic language that only parents could know, seemed to exchange ideas. And he smiled looking back at the prisoner "Well since you don't know Caitlyn then I guess it's not as important to let you know that she was captured in her mission to sneak past the Hassi and reach the Methuselah Tree."

"Whoa , whoa now... She actually tried to do that?" The prisoner slipped.

"So you do know her." Said Drew

"Tell us how she is with your group." Ulraj demanded.

The Prisoner frowned " So you got me to slip , do you actually have her? Where you lyin' about her mission? How'd y'all know that in the first place."

"We're asking you the questions, not the other way around." Wadi took a step to the side , un-guarding Zak.

"Well, we don't know if we should be truthful to you until we know we'll get equally truthful facts from you." Doc said making a deal . "we will go a truth for a truth, back and forth."

The Atlantean prisoner looked at the corners of the ceiling in the room , trying to avoid everyone's eyes, and trying to think at the same time. Looking back down, but now at the table surface, he finally responded again. " Fine. What was your first question?"

" Respecting that Mrs. Saturday actually asked the first question, please excuse me for wanting to barge in first, but I'd rather want to hear your name first. "

Drew nodded agreeing that that was probably a better first question then her original.

" My name is Tray , Jayy."

"what kind of name is that?" Wadi said , suddenly realizing how rude that was she added " For an Atlantean... "

Tray retorted " What kind of name is Saturday-" staring now at Drew , Doc , and Zak (figuring they where all related because of how similar they look) "- for a human? "

No one really responded to that, already getting that the tension in the room was already pretty high. Even though Zak wanted to yell right back at him with another snappy remark.

Calmer now , Tray tilted his chair back again. " Now my question. "

" No, we don't have her." Zak said with his arms crossed , still angry at the insult Tray threw out at them.

" Now back to you. So you do know her, but do you know Caitlyn personally?" Drew asked.

" Yes. And my turn again , did she really travel all that way just to check on the Methuselah Tree?"

" That's what we caught her trying to do." Wad said. " She didn't mention any further plans."

Ulraj getting a sudden burst of anger that only showed in his voice said " Why where you attacking my city?" Spoken very strongly even though it was not yelled out.

Tray moved his jaw left slightly and looking down at his foot tapping the ground , thought for a meer 10 seconds. " Because we-" looking up at Ulraj's eyes " just hate you."

a quick flash of pain and sadness flushed over the prince for a moment , how could someone... -let alone a people- just hate me? He thought.

"Now, hey. Look here, that wasn't very nice and there should be a better explanation for terrorizing an other kingdom." Wadi said sternly , getting more into this interrogation setting then she originally wished for.

"What exactly , like, EXACTLY is the reason for your people sending small brigades to attack Kumari Kandam?!" Zak said.

Tray leaned his head back with a sigh , and looked back at the others. " Well. When you have one kingdom that is thriving , trying to gain control , trying to do what they think is right at one corner of the planet... then you have an other kingdom of similar traits trying to do the exact same thing . There is a problem starting. Soon , at one time or another in the future history, there will be a time where both Kingdoms will have to stop ignoring that the other one is there. Once they except that both kingdoms exist , they must choose between working together which would probably end up in making one kingdom ; Or they will have fight to the death to become the only Kingdom of their traits.-"

But Tray was cut off by Zak. " Then why don't you just work together?"

"-Eh eh. No. Don't interrupt me. I'll get there. If it wasn't for the royalty of Kumari Kandam abandoning our ancestors so long ago, then we might have tried peace right away. But besides that, we know the curse of mixing culture with another."

"Wait.. I don't get it. What curse?" Zak asked.

"Well, one thing we've learned by living so close to human property is that when most cultures mix not only do you start to learn other cultures -which is fine by most of us Atlanteans- … but what we also learned is that most of you also forget most of your original culture. We don't want to lose our culture for- for- " he looks at Ulraj "That person's culture! Our kind is a proud race that has devoted many many years to splitting apart from the Kumari! Why would we ruin all of that effort just to assimilate back into it?"

A silence thick like fog entered the room like never before, even thicker then in the other silent pauses. Ulraj leaned against the wall , deep in thought. A almost pained thought, he was feeling the pain of wanting to say sorry but couldn't because he can't just UNDO everything that has happened in the past... and Ulraj knows even just saying sorry without changing everything would mean nothing to someone who feels so strongly against not liking him or his kingdom. But he still wanted to say it, even if saying sorry wasn't a kingly thing to do. He wanted to say it even though he would feel embarrassed afterwards. And he even wanted to say it even though Tray would probably spit out some other insult in response to it.

"I... I'm sorry. " Ulraj said. All eyes turned onto him, still very silent.

Trey dipped his head down, not really believing what he heard. Apparently this would have been the last words he would have ever had expected to come from a Kumarian , let alone the new King. Looking up confused. "What?" He said.

"I'm sorry." Ulraj repeated, plainly . " I'm sorry that both of our kingdoms grew so apart because one simple little disagreement, and I think we should work together because I am not the people who ruled before. I am my own person. And I don't have the same exact views as the kings before me. We do not have to become one kingdom to become allies and friends , and if it really disturbs you that much I'll make sure none of our cultures clash in manners your people won't agree with."

Trey sat there still with the really confused expression and desperately wanted to look away from Ulraj's eyes. So he did, but failed to find another place to look where others weren't looking back. Everyone else waiting for a response from him.

Fiskerton whipped away a sappy little tear that he had shed from Ulraj's short emotional plee.

" Well, I can't change anything. I'm just a low class citizen. These attack forces aren't even assigned by the King , they are assigned by the Princess and youngest Prince of Atlantis. But even talking to them , I wont be able to change ANY relations. If I would ever be able to convince even one or both of the two... who knows how far it'll travel. It might not reach the King's ears, probably not even the Queen's. The only thing I can think of.... The only advice at all, would be to try to reach the King in person."

It feels like everyone had started to breath again, like everyone was holding their breath as Trey responded ; because now the room seemed brighter.

"How would I get to your King? I don't even know his name. Is it still King Atlas?" Ulraj said, his voice was wispy. Like when you had been yelling and you wanted to save your voice from becoming horse.

"Yes, King Atlas. And the only way would be to find someone with the derestriction to both tame our city guardian and be allowed to bring outsiders into Atlantis."

"What's...-" Zak feeling shy for interrupting Ulraj and Trey's important conversation"- What's you City guardian?"

"Well, we declared it part of the cephalopod species; Obviously because it's a giant Octopus. We're defiantly certain this isn't actually Kraken but a sub species , either way that's what the king at the time named it after."

" A Kraken like Octopus, just in size? Not more crab like? " Drew asked.

"No, unlike Nordic versions ours is just a large sized Octopus that is easily tamed by food. But it hasn't excepted any food from anything else besides residents from Atlantis in a very long time, it's smart enough to trust and protect the place where it's food comes from and will sometimes take down boats and even planes if they get too close to our city."

"Do you have permission to bring outsiders into Atlantis?" Ulraj asked. He looked more calm and collective now that it seems Trey might be on their side.

"No, none of us that where in your city, just now, have permission. But Caitlyn... she does."

"But we don't know where she went! Caitlyn left with two other people and didn't say where they where going." Zak said remembering the two red haired teens disappear with Caitlyn behind the tents.

"Who were the two other people?" Trey asked.

" I think it was a girl named Auburn and a boy named Blaze." Wadi said, placing her figure on her chin trying to remember correctly.

Trey looked around the room , searching for nothing but more time since he knew he'd be leaving soon … just not by the hands of anyone already here. " I'd look for them near any active volcanos... I know that sounds weird and risky of sort, but trust me. I know Caitlyn wont be with them now, she hates the fire and extreme heat... but if you tell them if I sent you , they'll tell you where she is."

"thank you for your.. Ermm, sudden cooperation." Doc said, starting to stand up.

"Umm, can you let me go?" Trey said innocently . " I'm sorry to ask , especially when I did almost seriously injure y'all … But let's just say my homies never leave a man behind before retreating or returning to base and, well... I'm sure both you and I would like it better if I was released other then them barging into your castle and blowing through walls to get to me."

transition.

Trey ran into a partially shaded part of the street , and a larger male figure ran up to him from the other direction. He tugged on Trey's arm to quickly go the way he came from. But Trey pulled back and faced the Saturdays , Wadi, and Ulraj. He formed his right hand in the shape of the letter V , turned his left palm upward , then moved his right hand into his left palm 3 times. Then he used his hands to do this water motion moving forward . Then he turned back to his friend and quickly ran off into the dark street way with him.

Ulraj turned away from the street and looked up , not really at something, but just to think. It just so happened his gaze landed on the highest part of the castle.

Zak noticed after watching Trey and his friend run off. "Ulraj, are … are you okay?"

Ulraj nodded. " Yes. I just have to think of topics, the right answers, the right conclusions, theories, and proof that both Atlantis and Kumari Kandam can work together again...-" he looked back down , at Zak "- You know, king stuff."

All though Ulraj didn't smile Zak could tell he was trying to lighten the mood , so Zak smiled for him. " Well then we have a job to get to ,too. My family and I will be able to track this Caitlyn girl down again for you, I mean... There are about 20 volcanos erupting at the moment , about 50-70 active volcanos in a year, and about 160 each decade. Finding the right volcanic area where Blaze and Auburn are at will be a piece of cake for us.Then they'll tell us where she's at. " He smiled again.

"Some how, young Saturday, that doesn't calm my nerves." Ulraj finally smiled back.
